If dues money is to be used for state and local elections, there should be a policy in place that allows the local to do this. The policy should state that a representative committee must approve all expenditures. A segregated account must be set up to handle state and local funds and dues money ear-marked for this account separated immediately upon receipt. It is of paramount importance that the committee complies with all state laws regarding state and local political contributions.
