Within the local’s constitution the need for an annual budget is formally acknowledged in the vast majority of instances. If there was no planned budget in place then there would be no plan for the logical allocation the local’s resources. It then follows that it is in the local’s best interest to plan wisely for expenditures of the membership’s limited treasury. In the long run it becomes a fiduciary responsibility for all the local officers to develop a budget.
